GEDCOM export date format

Hello. First new topic posted, so go easy on me :-)

I have a tree that I started as a GEDCOM import about 1 year ago. It was an export from FTW V7 where my father currently maintains his family tree. For one of the Names in the original import the Birth Date was "ABT 1815".

In the persons profile (http://www.geni.com/profile/index/6000000001198225677) the Birth date now shows as just "1815". On exporting my Forest back to GEDCOM for some external analysis, the birth date field is "ABT 1815" again, as shown below. Any reasons why?

@ted is the issue that we aren't translating ABT into circa on the site?

Well maybe. I note that in Geni the profile shows only the 1815, and does not have Circa ticked.
If it is a standard genealogical notation to use ABT or ABOUT then maybe it will be useful to translate this to Circa.

However my question was more around:
Input (GEDCOM upload) = ABT 1815
    Geni shows 1815
Output (GEDCOM export = ABT 1815

I would have thought that I would just get 1815 on the export instead of ABT 1815.
It seems to indicate that a GEDCOM export may not be exporting exactly what I'm seeing in a profile. Or does the profile just display filtered data from the import? Does that make sense?
What would have happened had I edited the profile birthdate, then exported?

@ted I know that there are certain fields that we import from a gedcom but do not (yet) display on the profile. This must be one of those cases. I don't see why we can't just convert abt to circa on the profile.

    Sounds good.
Would you consider all the following date prefixes to mean Circa:

    • About
    • ABT
    • AB

Obviously with case not being important.
