WTF, R U KIDDING ME??? I no LONGER can import a GEDCOM??????

You guys sank to an ALL TIME LOW!!! I can NO LONGER IMPORT A GEDCOM UNLESS I START A FAKE ACCOUNT AND BUY A PRO MEMBERSHIP!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Noah had talked about this as an option since the GEDCOM imports were causing big headaches in the larger trees. Seemed like a temporary measure until they include the tools to check a GEDCOM import against existing trees to reduce duplication and/or better tools for merging mass duplication in trees.

</p>THIS IS INSANE! I wish you could read every relative post starting in February 2007, then you could FEEL MY PAIN!
GEDCOM Import is a SIMPLE DATABASE FUNCTIONALITY...EVERY SINGLE offline genealogy program, and every single ONLINE genealogy site ALREADY HAS the technology...why not our site???

OK...Back in February of 2007 I started painstakingly hand-typing THOUSANDS of family members, with the hopes that one day "my tree" would bring together the world...
I spent EVERY WAKING MOMENT (and about 10 hours a day at work...don't tell my clients), building the Hibbard Tree and all of its MANY MANY branches. Inch by inch, row by row, I kept plugging away...waiting for the day when the G-Team would FINALLY hook me up with a sweet GEDCOM Import...something I obsessed over for many a year...
So...after MANUALLY adding over 30,000 profiles they allowed the Geni-Testies super-user-group to try out ALPHA GEDCOM Import...
I will leave out a TON of grievous moments and back-flashes...
So here we are today...it is just a few days over a MONTH away from 2010 and Geni.com has instituted MANY fine upgrades (charge for path equating, monthly/yearly PRO fees, limited "free" items, gifts...............and more to the point, GEDCOM Import...BUT...
It has not in ANY WAY been perfected, changed, helped out, fixed, or even made better than it was years ago! JUST SEARCH for posts on the subject!
Anyway...I'm going to TRY to get 1.5hrs of sleep tonight, but I want to end with aying WTF G-Team??? I, as the FIRST PAYING PRO USER ON GENI.COM, expected to have a more "perfect" GEDCOM (or ANY ancestry file) Import/Upload by now!!! I mean HELL, I would have AT LEAST expected that you would have made it a link/button on the main page to "import" (ESPECIALLY A PRO-USER PAYING FOR THE EXTRA STUFF) a family file/GEDCOM, WITHOUT A LIMIT TO THE SIZE!
Oh well...I guess once you enabled GEDCOM Import for NEW USERS ONLY you checked it off of your fix-it-list and moved on?
PLEASE GO BACK AND FIX/ALTER GEDCOM IMPORT!!!!!!!

Please not.
This is a great step in stopping the Gedcom madness, especially to stop everyone who uploads Gedcom's found on Internet under fake names for later on merging them to their own tree.

I agree with Brox - I actually bothered to do some merges last night knowing that there wouldn't be dupes again (at least due to a stupid import).
