A and B are Brothers from one family
C and D are sisters from another family
If A marries C and B marries D.
Then it is difficult to establish a relationship.I add A and added C as his spouse. I then added D as sister of C, Then B as the husband of D. Now there is no relationship between A and B as Parents of A and B can duplicates

hilalta that is a classic situation and easy to resolve. You just merge the duplicate parents of A & B. Show A's set of parents, hold the mouse over one of the parents, and then press the move button for that profile. This should put that profile in a white box on the right side. Now focus the tree on B, drag the profile from the white box onto the duplicate parent of B, and select 'They are the same person' when the menu opens up.

In my tree I have the example of three brothers form one family that got married with three sisters from the other family (a lot of x2 green circles!)
