What do you do if someone screws up your immediate tree?
(5 posts)-
My 1st cousin's 3rd cousin is about 12, and I invited her to my family group so I could merge her onto the tree. She randomly added my dad as her uncle?? And now my dad has 4 parents and it won't let me select his real 2 parents because it will "split the tree".
How irritating. HELP?

Also, if someone shows that someone got married to the same person twice, how do you fix that?

The first one can be fixed if you go into the tree view, click edit the profile, move to the Relationship tab and select/reselect the correct parents and save.
The second one may be more difficult. Usually shows up with a 2x or 3x for some unknown reason. You can attempt to go into the relationship tab again and wait for a minute. I may populate with remove buttons that might allow you to remove one of the duplicates. Even if the remove buttons show up, sometimes they'll remove and sometimes they wont. If they don't, you can always place a ticket with geni@help.com.

If you don't have access to change their stuff, you're out of luck. You can try contacting her parents and asking them to help you out with her account but Geni won't help for any reason when it comes to stuff your family members are doing.

for the parents, if it doesn't work in the tree... what I do is go to the profile and select the real parents from the drop down list in the relationships tab
If married to same person twice look in the remove relationship connections when you edit in the tree. Otherwise send in a help ticket to Geni support.
