New updates and enhancements

We've released some updates and enhancements:
User Stats
- You will now see User Stats on profiles other than your own, when you have permission
- Pro Users have more accurate counts up to 100,000. Basic counts are limited to 5,000.
Pro Gift Subscriptions - You can now purchase a one year Pro accounts for a relative for $50. Buy a Gift Subscription.
Node Deletion Notifications - When a node is deleted from the tree we will send a notification to the manager.
Search - Tonight's release includes our new search engine. While there are no interface changes to search in this release, results should be more complete and search should be more reliable.
Merge Issues - Finally, we have corrected an issue that was preventing the merge issues list from updating. Your merge list may be blank for the next few hours while we generate the new list, but once updated the list should be more current and accurate.

This update also forwards links to profiles that have been merged and deleted, to the new profile.

Yay to most of that!!
But...
Blood relatives: 100000+
Ancestors: 5000+Should I expect to see that from here on out?!? That's terribly boring.
The ancestor list is obviously better with 5000 than with the around 3300 I had yesterday. But it is still nothing near the real list. What would it take to get us that?

@ffunch your blood relatives will be limited to displaying 100000+ for the time being. Since you are a Pro user, your Ancestors should not be limited to 5k. This probably just hasn't been updated yet, I'll check into it.

Edit: Before people mistake this for sarcasm, I'm being serious. The fact I have issues that I can see means you guys fixed some stuff on the backend that will make things better, and I appreciate that work.

I'll wait till the morning but merge and conflicts items aren't disappearing after being resolved.

I just opened my tree and discovered 48 merge issues. I know I have 8 merge issues which I cannot resolve or will not resolve for a long time now because they involve profiles that are claimed. Owners of these profiles either do not know how to go about merging their profiles, or seldom log-in to geni.com or plain do not want to do it.
The additional new 40 merge issues do not really have any conflicting issues except for the fact they were the result of previous merges. The problem with this is some profiles have been claimed so more waiting again for owners of the these profiles to complete merge. Hopefully they log in to geni.com and do it.

You should also remember that there is always at least two persons that get the same merge issue, and one of them might know how to solve it, or is able able to explain the other person how, if only the other person can solve it.

Hi,
Yeterday I was connected to about 530 people. Which is reasonable.
As of today I am connected to more than 7,000,000. Which is impossible.
Does it have anything to do with the new upgrade?David

One more enhancement I forgot to mention - requests to merge a profile should now correctly link to the profile with the pending merge.

@jeradc, can it be undone? I don't know of any merge done today or yesterday by anybpdy in my family. No such activity had been reported in "family news".
