It is only possible to af few words in the posting news section. Can you make it possible to post longer news?
Do i have to overwrite the news from time to time? It would be nice to be able to use it as a blog/diary :-)
Thanks for the updates! I love when new updates arives :-)Posted 1 year ago # -
You can actually type quite a bit, but it is hard to see. You have more room to write in the Latest News box on your profile (under your profile photo) which does the same thing.
You can overwrite this with new news. In the future we may keep a record of all of your archived updates to give you a history.
Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming please.

The current threshold for Latest News is 255 characters, though this may change based on user input.

When adding events and adding attendeers it would be nice to make a search in the intire tree... Some time people that are not close relatives are invited to events too :-)

</p>I did use the profilepafe to add news.. and i had to stop wirting because there was not enough space... When trying to write more it just overwrote the last letter...
In general it would be nice if the boxes (news, Descriptions of photos and so on) were bigger... because as you say, it is hard to see what we are writing :-)
Edit: Has the photodescription been deleted??

Before testing this feature, I need to know if I post "news" will there then be an email notification to all 400 active users in my tree? I don't want to repeat the nightmare last release was where you changed notification settings for the discussion feature

@Rollike- If you're referring to photo captions, they now show up as the title (above the photo) when viewing each individual photo.

@De Keno... Yes it was the photo caption... And thanks! I just had to open my eyes! *L*

@od- Posting Latest News will not generate emails.

It doesn't seem to display changes to my tree?
Are the updates delayed? And are they "from now", or will/should changes made before today (04. january) be displayed?
And I added 3 images to a new album, but it only says I added 1 picture?

kri, it takes a couple of hours before revisions shows
(thanks De Keno)

Ah - yes, now I see things popping up. The "x minutes ago" seems a bit off, but I suppose that's when the revision server updates.
Thanks.

De Keno: If you're referring to photo captions, they now show up as the title (above the photo) when viewing each individual photo.
I still don't get why a Title and a Caption are supposed to be the same thing.
Title: Jim in New York
Caption: This is Jim in New York City (1998) at the top of the World Trade Center.Am I supposed to use 'comments' as the descriptive caption? It's not really an 'event'...

does a photo really need a title?
perhaps if the "caption" would be under the photo instead of large bold font it would be better?"Jim in New York City (1998) at the top of the World Trade Center." has my vote

I think of a title as something short:
Star Wars
and a caption as a description:
A science fiction movie about creatures from some kind of galaxy. For family records, I tend to transfer this kind of thinking to:
Victor and Victrola
Victor and Victrola pose in front of the sunset in Hawaii. Also pictured are the wedding party and parents.
... which can be searched under the Event "Victor's Wedding"Posted 1 year ago # -
... Where did Map go? I don't see it linked anywhere now.
Did you take this away?Posted 1 year ago # -
Home - My Tree - My Profile - Photos
'Map' is a sub-tab under 'My Tree'

@jimHere: Also keep in mind that there are Date and Location metadata fields for each photo now, so you no longer need to include those in a title or caption.

This people tagger should work the same as with photos. You should be able to tag anyone in your tree using the 'search entire tree' link that appears if you don't have any results close to you.
